Annual Border Governor’s Conference will Christen Newly-Opened Facility
PUERTO PEÑASCO, MEXICO (June XX, 2007) – Situated on Puerto Peñasco’s Sandy Beach, Las Palomas Beach and Golf Resort will open its state-of-the-art Event Pavilion in July 2007 an idyllic setting for corporate events and special occasion festivities. Adding instant credibility a testament to the resort’s facilities and service, the new meeting venue is set to host to the annual Border Governor’s Conference meetings between the governors of California, Arizona, New Mexico, Texas, Baja California, Chihuahua, Coahuila, Nuevo Leon, Sonora and Tamaulipas in September.

Las Palomas offers an impressive range of catering spaces fit for every occasion, boasting more than 50,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor options. In the final stages of construction is the state-of-the-art Event Pavilion slated to open in July 2007. As the preeminent meeting and events facility in Puerto Peñasco, it will offer 5,000 square feet of usable space and will be the perfect place for a company retreat or after hours cocktail reception. The catering staff can configure the Event Pavilion into four separate rooms ranging in size from 678 square feet to 1,819 square feet, allowing for groups of all sizes to make use of its high-tech amenities and modern styling. "The upcoming arrival of our Event Pavilion signifies another milestone in the continuing development of the Las Palomas master plan," says Mario Mendez, managing director of The Worldwide Group, Las Palomas’ Mexican investment arm.
Accommodating events of up to 60 guests, La Maria Bistro’s private dining room is suited for intimate strategy sessions, luncheons or board retreats. Meeting planners can take advantage of the Las Palomas Corporate Retreat and Meeting Package which includes a one-or two-bedroom luxury ocean view suite, welcome cocktail, fitness club access, breakfast, lunch and dinner, use of salon for two-session meetings, audio/visual equipment rental and a round of golf at the Links at Las Palomas including a golf cart. Prices range between $197 per person, per night to $250 based on a two-night stay and minimum of 50 people per group. Events under the sun and stars are customary at Las Palomas. With close to 50,000 square feet of outdoor space, guests don’t have to lose sight of the dazzling sea to celebrate their special occasions. Cristal Terrace and Garden is the outdoor venuea djacent to the resort pool.
Accommodating up to 450 guests for a reception, it is the perfect place for post wedding ceremony cocktails or an afternoon luncheon. The Ruby Terrace offers 7,846 square feet of event space, and is situated just outside of the Las Palomas lobby with expansive views of the sea. With an 800 person capacity, this setting has been the backdrop to Sonoran state galas, making it the place for grand fêtes in Puerto Peñasco. A popular destination wedding resort, Las Palomas’ couples often exchange vows in the warm embrace of a Sandy Beach sunset and return to the property for a moonlit reception. At no additional fee, Las Palomas’ dedicated event planners work with couples planning their weddings from afar to insure that every detail of the celebration is attended to.
